Tour de Fat, not coming to Durango
I’ve never been lucky enough to be living in a city where New Belgium’s Tour de Fat has come through. From what I’ve heard though it’s a big bike celebration and tons of fun, while raising money for charity. Well, I won’t be able to check it out this year in Durango either. This isn’t the first time I’ve had Front Range envy. While I don’t envy the traffic and problems of the big city, I do envy all the awesome things going on in Denver, Boulder, Fort Collins and the surrounding areas everytime I read about events in Colorado.
Denver traffic actually not bad these days, no one has a job, so not much traffic on the roads.
Denver Tour de Fat was pretty fun, with a big critical mass ride beforehand, snaking through old cap hill neighbourhood and downtown. Belolw is a link to pictures. I’ve noticed some distinct front range animosity coming from sw colorado lately, I think its time for folks to (re)discover this place.
