Cycle Squawk on KDUR
I’m not sure if I’ve written about Cycle Squawk yet, but you may have seen it mentioned on the Calendar of Events in the sidebar of this blog.
Cycle Squawk is a once a week, 30 minute show about cycling on KDUR, the Fort Lewis College radio station. It airs Tuesdays at 11:30am. The hosts are both very involved in the local cycling community, Russell Zimmerman of Durango Cyclery and Bicycle Lemonade and Chad Cheeney a coach of Durango DEVO. The show isn’t very produced, seems to be unscripted and can be of varying sound/production quality at times, but anyone that loves cycling will love listening to the show.
I somehow never seem to listen to it live, something always gets in the way (or I forget, which happens more often than I’d like to admit).
Well now the Durango Herald has us forgetful cyclists covered. The Herald has a new website where they put up multimedia content, and one of the things they’re doing is podcasting Cycle Squawk. For the last three weeks they’ve had the show up a few hours after it aired, it doesn’t take long to download the file and listen on your computer. You can’t call in of course, but at least you can hear it if you forgot to tune in live.
