Bikes as Art: Single Speed World Championship’s Hand Made Bike Show
There’s been a lot of talk about the state of the arts in Durango these days, the Durango Arts Center is facing problems and undergoing all sorts of changes (KSUT has great coverage of this on their blog). One of the criticisms I’ve read about the DAC is their limited focus on certain types of art, not everyone considers bicycles art, but at least some people see them that way.
Local frame builder Norse Cycles is hosting a Handcrafted Single Speed Bike Show the Thursday before the 2009 Single Speed World Championships. It’ll be held Thursday September 18th, 2009 at the Irish Embassy Pub in downtown Durango from 4-7pm.
All the details are at the Norse Cycles website. The show should be a great time to see some one of a kind, unique bikes, handcrafted with some love and care.
