Those who are facial-hair-endowed are encouraged to get beer and beard at Carver Brewing Company this Friday at 8 pm. The occasion is the official kick-off of the 2010 Snowdown Beard Growing Competition. Contestants entering the 3-month long “Beard Race” will need to show up at Carver’s back pub clean-shaven to have their mug shot as proof they didn’t get a head start. The Thursday evening of Snowdown (1/28/10) these considerably furrier lads will present their faces to a panel of judges who will then select a winner. The judges will also be awarding fabulous prizes to beards of all ages for best color, longest beard, and for two new categories this year: the best Hemingway and the greatest beer absorption beard. There is no entry fee and this event is 21+.
