It seems like sometime in the last month, Twitter has completely blown up. Everyone is talking about it and joining. It’s all over NPR lately. You can’t look anywhere on the internet without see @SoandSo — the @ symbol is used to indicate you’re talking about someone on twitter, when used on Twitter the @ in front of a username will link to their page.

Well, just like everyone else breweries are joining Twitter too. Beernews.org has a roundup of 150 breweries that are on Twitter. They say that number has tripled in the last two months. I follow @StoneBrewingCo and their CEO @StoneGreg I just found out about Front Street Brewery in Wilmington, NC thanks to Twitter (@FSBrewery), never had their beer, never even heard of them, but thanks to Twitter I’ll be looking for them now.

I’d love it if I could follow the local Durango breweries; Ska Brewing Co., Steamworks Brewing Co., Durango Brewing Co. and Carver Brewing Co. on Twitter and get updates on my computer and cell phone when they’re having special events or releasing new beers. I’m sure it’d make me drink more local grog (if that’s possible).

If anyone out there at any of these breweries is reading and wants some help with Twitter drop me a line or leave a comment. And if you guys get it setup your self make sure to let me know as I’d love to keep up with what’s going on via Twitter.

(And I realize this blog has been a lot heavier on the Beer than the Bike lately, that should change soon as the weather gets better! Look for a lot more bike posts coming soon).
